Ward-Prowse, 28, is set to leave St Mary’s this summer after the club were relegated from the Premier League but prospective buyers have so far been put off Saints £50million asking price.
There is a feeling the south coast club will have to drop their asking price nearer the end of the window with Newcastle United and West Ham both monitoring the player’s situation.
