T20 series goes to Bangladesh with 27-run win over WIndies. Taskin Ahmed was the star of a superb bowling performance as Bangladesh defended another comparatively low total to win by a series-clinching 27-run aggregate over West Indies in the second T20 International of a three-match series played at Arnos Vale Stadium, St Vincent on Tuesday.
The tourists were bowled out for 129-7 by medium-pacer Taskin who had taken two wickets in the opening over before coming back to take the match in the 19th over by dismissing all-rounder Akeal Hosein, who had been bowled for 31 at backward-point just as he was about to take the match by himself when West Indies were bowled out for 102.
Taskin was on three for 16 and other seamers Tanzim Hasan Sakib and wrist spinner Rishad Hossain took two wickets apiece.

Hosein and Roston Chase saved the Caribbean side from a pathetic defeat at 42 for six in the ninth over, scoring 47 for seventh wicket before Hossain gave him two crucial wickets by bowling Chase to top score 32 and getting Gudakesh Motie out at long off first ball to flip the match completely in Bangladesh’s favour.
Their previous run was again thanks to another late scare by Shamim Hossain to make their final total.
He was unbeaten on 35 off 17 balls, and claimed two fours and two sixes as he smashed a 41-run eighth-wicket partnership with Tanzim. Shamim’s work got him “Man of the Match” trophy.
And just like the West Indies, Bangladesh slammed to 52 for five in the 11th over, Mehidy Hasan Miraz scoring only 26 at that stage.

But Jaker Ali’s 21 held out against total breakdown and his death set the stage for Shamim to take over at the close of the innings with Tanzim being good solid support.
Two for 25 was Motie’s best figure for the West Indies on left-arm spinners.
Lose 3-0 in the previous One-Day International series after the two teams had drawn 1-1 Test series, Bangladesh will hope to finish the series 3-0 when the final matches takes place at the same ground on Thursday.
