The English batsman Tom Kohler-Cadmore had a dream knock when Sharjah Warriorz defeated Gulf Giants in the last-ball encounter of the ILT20 on Sunday.
Kohler-Cadmore (83 not out from 56 overs, 6 fours, 4 sixes) played his part in the Ring of Fire at Dubai International Stadium as he did not get too carried away on the outside edge as he brought up his side to bat but still took wickets back and forth at both ends.
The Warriorz, under his genius, chased down 174 with the last ball of their innings for a three-wicket win. As 2 for 119 in the 13th over, the Warriorz were in command of the chase.
But Tim Southee’s men collapsed in the middle when UAE all-rounder Rohan Mustafa (45 from 33 balls) dropped after a sublime 105-run stand with Kohler-Cadmore.
But Kohler-Cadmore hung in there until the final ball to help his side take the win. p-scored 46 against 27 balls as the Giants were 174-7 in 20 overs.
Warriorz captain Southee played very well with the ball taking three wickets for 30 runs in four overs.
Meanwhile opener Phil Salt took 71 not out off 49 balls, UAE youngster Alishan Sharafu made 46 off 34 balls and Andre Russell got 30, with Abu Dhabi Knight Riders 166-5.
Dubai Capitals on the other hand defeated the current holders MI Emirates by one run in a wild opening game of ILT20 Season 3 on Saturday.
