International Cricket Council (ICC): The men’s ICC Champions Trophy will be held in Pakistan and at a neutral stadium, ICC announced on Thursday. It will be the same rule for all the ICC matches between India and Pakistan in the rights cycle 2024-27.
ICC issued statement on Thursday: “India and Pakistan matches played by either side at ICC Events during the 2024-2027 rights cycle will be played at a neutral venue,” ICC Board has confirmed on Thursday.
This will hold for the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025 (Pakistan), which will be held in February and March 2025, and also the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 (India) and ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 (India and Sri Lanka), as per ICC.
They also confirmed that PCB was the new host for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in 2028 with neutral venue arrangements also put in place.
In 2029 to 2031, one of the senior ICC women’s tournaments will be staged in Australia.
We’ll know soon the date of ICC Champions Trophy 2025 with Pakistan hoping to re-sale the title they won in 2017, beating India in the final.

The eight-team competition will be played against Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, India, New Zealand and South Africa as well as the tournament hosts Pakistan.
India has not visited Pakistan since 2008 when they played the Asia Cup because of political tensions between the two countries. The two arch-enemies last had a bilateral series between the two rivals in 2012-13 in India, in white-ball cricket. After that, India and Pakistan have fought each other mostly in ICC matches and Asia Cups.
