The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 Final in Ahmedabad will see the English duo of Richard Illingworth and Alex Wharf officiating in the middle.
It will be Illingworth’s second Men’s T20 World Cup Final in a row, having officiated with Chris Gaffaney in 2024.
It follows an impressive recent record of appointments for Illingworth, including the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 Final and ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025 Final.
He is alongside fellow countryman Wharf, who will take charge of his maiden senior ICC World Cup Final.
Wharf had officiated at the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2022 and ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 events before his appointment last year to the Emirates ICC Elite Panel of Umpires.
The duo, who batted together in the middle during New Zealand’s semi-final win against South Africa on Wednesday will be aided by third umpire Allahuddien Paleker and fourth umpire Adrian Holdstock, while Andy Pycroft will serve as match referee.
South African Paleker was added to the Elite Panel of Umpires along with Wharf in March 2025 and has stood in six matches during the event.
