Olympian Manu Bhaker had a winning inside, topping the women’s 10m air pistol final in National Selection Trials T3 (Group A) that ended at the Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range here on Tuesday. Trial two victor Sainyam secured the second position and Esha Singh finished third to take the eighth spot in an eight-woman final.
Manut — who was the last shooter to qualify for finals — led from the second series until the end of finals to finish first with a final score of 246.1, 4.2 points ahead of World Cup Final silver medallist Sainyam who scored 241.9. Esha Singh, a gold and bronze medallist at the Asian Championship and World Championship respectively, finished third with a score of 220.6.
Asian Games gold medalist Gulia finished fourth after scoring 200.2, while Anjali Choudhary hit 179.8 to secure the fifth position. Then came Surbhi Rao at sixth place with a score of 158.2 and Deaflympics medallist Pranjali Prashant Dhumal, who scored 138.7, and Muskan whose score was 117.0 thereby completing the top eight。
Esha had topped the qualifiers with a score of 580-21x ahead of Surbhi Rao who shot 578-12x, Muskan in third (577-15x), Anjali Choudhary (575-19x), Sainyam (575-16x), Palak (574-14x) and Manu (574-11x).
The athletes of the national squad will now begin the coaching camp when they will be at New Delhi in between March 11-21.
