Prize money distribution for Men’s T20WC 2026 announced

Following the culmination of a thrilling ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 in which India lifted a record third title, the International Cricket Council has announced the final tournament prize money distribution.

In accordance with the record-breaking boosts to ICC prize money announced in 2024, a total of US$11.25 million will be awarded to players from each of the 20 nations involved in this unprecedented tournament.

India received the largest portion, with the defending champions winning $2,639,423 after their final victory over New Zealand by 96 runs. New Zealand, albeit appearing in their second men’s T20 World Cup final, pocketed the second-highest purse of $1,422,692.

The total includes the base amount of $225,000 that was awarded to all participating teams and bonuses based on final placement, win bonus, as well as progress through each stage in the tournament.

South Africa, who made the semis, became the other side to cross a million dollars when they claimed $1,005577. The Proteas were unbeaten until then in the tournament, when New Zealand defeated them at the Eden Gardens after clinching a stunning chase on the back of Finn Allen’s smashing century.

The other semi-finalists, England, that almost stopped India from defending their title in the last-four stage were awarded $974,423 for their efforts.

West Indies and Pakistan received $538,269 and $522,692 respectively while Zimbabwe’s stunning performance (which saw them shock Australia) netted them a respectable paycheck of $491,538. The other Super 8 side, tournament co-hosts Sri Lanka, collected $475,962.

Fourth-placed USA, who had made the Super 8 the last time out and ran a show with two wins in group stages in this edition for 2026 when they finished on $309,808. This was also the figure matched by Australia and Afghanistan.

Scotland ($278,654) and Ireland ($271,731), who both registered a victory apiece in the tournament, follow next.

Italy made a scintillating bow to the tournament as they defeated Nepal in their first-ever win. The European side is set to walk away with $256,154.

The Netherlands, UAE, and Nepal each received the same amount.

In contrast, Canada, Namibia and Oman all opted for the minimum prize of US$225000.
