In a statement issued late last night, (Wednesday) the local administration said that the entire region would be locked down for 24 hours because of today’s (Wednesday) weather forecast. There will be no play today, play will resume tomorrow (Thursday) when rounds five and six are over.

Play was called off because of lightning which is considered a dangerous weather phenomenon, and so a total of 20 players are still to finish their respective fifth rounds. The fifth rounds are to be completed today Wednesday at 8:30 am local time

Round five started at tee 10 for 24-year-old Rayhan who managed to birdie holes 13, 15, 16, and 18, thus finishing the front nine with a score of 32.

Rayhan finished with the first nine holes first which included a sequence of eight pars and a birdie on the last hole which was the 423 yards long par 4 N 9. This earned him a round score of 66. The search for a clean perfect score was Thomas’ objective this week and round five enabled him to enjoy this.

“He had five birdie chances on the final holes, he saw just a single move. Round five is rather quite special as this week it is moving day’  which this week is a moving day as we play all six rounds in the tournament, which is almost seldom seen in the game of golf, and there isn’t five hole stretches without one.

“It was a great day for me, although the conditions were quite difficult with some breezy moments earlier on. Overall, I had an opportunity to gain some ground on the leaderboard when the birdies were up”

Excitingly, round five takes place at the Lakes Course where we anticipate more strong performances from the players.
